Bem simples de entender! o Tethered sempre tera que ter um computador!

voce sempre vai ter que conectar seu USB ao seu iPhone, iPod, iPad, e ao Computador e sempre que você fazer um Reboot ou por algum outro motivo ficar sem bateria, seu celular apagar por completo, isso quer dizer que vc terá que fazer tudo novamente,
